I'm amazed (not in a good way) that Austin City Limits never even tried to invite Ray to perform, given how much he seems to have added to Texas music on his own & with Jerry Jeff Walker.

Love RWH! This man should so much more famous. One of the greatest songwriters Texas has ever produced. And that’s saying ALOT! Plus I have met him a few times at South Austin Music. He’s funny as hell and extremely friendly.

May 4, 2024 The long awaited TDC sentence is upon me now and I'm terrified but everyone but me saw it coming. Hey Ray I love this song! I lived in Austin for a year back in 2001. I was on my bike riding by Shady Grove outside venue. I saw you doing a soundcheck outside so I came through the gate. Someone had built you a guitar and you were trying it out. We started talking just like we've known each other a long time. You said hey what are you doing tonight...I said nothing you said wanna work for me at the door? I said yes and did that & got to eat with you and another band mate. I'll never forget it thank you!!
